At this moment, I feel as if I’ve been living in a cave.

I just stumbled across women’s football. Women’s tackle football! Not flag football, not touch football, not soccer — WOMEN’S TACKLE FOOTBALL!

And not just one, rag-tag team here or there, either. There are three, fully-functioning, multi-team leagues currently operating throughout our country. There are teams literally coast to coast!

This may or may not be the very thing that makes my year.

The Holy Grail of Awesome.

These women are in their 20s, 30s, 40s. They come from all walks of life, professional tracks, and academic backgrounds. Some of them look stone-butch tough, others look like someone you’d see offering check-in at a resort hotel in Switzerland.
